Welcome to “An Audience with the Pope”, home of
music photography that stands out from the crowd.
Against a backdrop awash with music imagery, my consistent approach is to capture the very essence of a performance and/or a band/artist. That elusive moment of magic which then becomes the heart of a memory – something to savour and cherish. It might be the intimacy of close up portrait or the energy of a full band or even the crowd. You know it when you see it because to me, this is what makes a photograph stand out from the crowd.
I’m honoured to be a resident photographer for The Forum, voted Best Small Venue in the UK by NME, and where you’ll also find a select portfolio of my work. I’m also privileged to be an official photographer for Local & Live, the leading original music festival in the South East and its sister events, the Local & Live Sessions and Local & Live Electric.
In the portfolio section, you’ll find a a comprehensive section of photographs of the best local and visiting bands that play in and around Tunbridge Wells, including established local gems, up and coming stars, as well as national/international treasures.
In the testimonials section you can read some of their kind things a number of these have said about my photographs. I’m thrilled that my work has been used by many artists including BAM, Steffan James, and Ed Jones. One of my highlights so far is having provided much of the promotional photography and all the artwork for the latest album by up and coming local boys, The Standard Lamps – currently supporting the Who!
The Papal advent calendar has become a bit of a tradition and you’ll find links to not just this years’, but also 2013 and 2012.
Re the blog, hmmm, I don’t do this anywhere as much as I used to but you’ll still find all sorts of things including exclusive interviews, reviews, videos and the occasional personal reflection on the fabulous music scene we’re lucky to enjoy on own doorstep.
So whatever your music photography requirements, live performance or promotional/press, you can have complete confidence that when you put your faith in the papal cameras, you’ll get music photography that stands out from the crowd. I work on a project by project basis so why not get in touch?
I look forward to capturing moments/making memories, with and for you.
